The community pops concert, under the direction of Maestro John Giordano, will feature a wide variety of pop classics and movie favorites including familiar selections by John Williams, Disney tunes and patriotic favorites.
Join Wells Fargo and the Corpus Christi Symphony Orchestra in its 2013 community concert and fireworks spectacular on Saturday, April 27, as it presents Music from the Movies. The family-oriented pop concert starts at 7:30 p.m. as the Wells Fargo stagecoach arrives, complete with horses and driver. The community pops concert, under the direction of Maestro John Giordano, will feature a wide variety of pop classics and movie favorites including familiar selections by John Williams, Disney tunes and patriotic favorites.
As the evening’s concludes, there will be a choreographed fireworks display along with the playing of classical Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture and USA Military March, Stars and Stripes Forever and a military salute and synchronized Harbor Bridge lighting.
"This community concert was such a huge hit last year, we're excited to return and encourage families of the Coastal Bend to experience the excellence and entertainment of our Corpus Christi Symphony Orchestra in a fun, casual atmosphere," said Robert Reed, Executive Director of the symphony. "It will be a chance to bring the entire family and enjoy music from the movies and the most spectacular fireworks. We'll even have fun giveaways for the first 4,000 guests."
Tickets for the concert and fireworks spectacular will start at $10 with special discounts for students and military. Admission will be free for children 12 and under. Reserved seating is also available as well as VIP packages that include priority seating, parking, food and drinks.
